Tell us about your Divinity Holistics & Beauty
Divinity Holistics & Beauty is a place where beauty, the interconnected-ness of body, spirit, and earth meet. We’re a unique health and wellness center focused on women. We create an unforgettable and rejuvenating experience each visit which brings our clients closer to enlightenment and a more confident version of themselves.
Why did you decide to open Divinity?
I’ve always been an independent person and worker. After working as a realtor and managing a book of business, I decided I wanted to set out on my own. At the time I was benefiting from a focus on my health and wellness which included many of the services that we now offer to the community. I noticed that access to this type of self-care was practically nonexistent and decided to fill the need. Soon after we opened our doors in 2018, we started helping clients of all types: women from age 18 to over the age of 70, those who are dealing with infertility or other health issues like fibroids, and women of all races and professions.
How did you learn about the Exchange and how did we help you?
I first learned about the Exchange at an event hosted by the Excelsior Growth Fund. I met Matt Revere there and we talked about a local pitch competition that I wanted to enter. Matt offered to help me take my pitch to the next level; he worked with me to hone my pitch and offered additional support throughout the process. Since that day, Matt and the Exchange have been a great resource for me and my business. No matter how big or small the question, I can ask him and he’ll respond right away. He even helped me write my first press release.
Any advice for other business owners?
For anyone considering becoming a business owner, take the leap and give it a try. I wasted a lot of time because I was afraid; I talked myself out of things because I was fearful of things not working out. I would tell anyone, especially women, to just go for it. There aren’t many women who leap out on their own. But as long as you believe in yourself and have a passion, the sky’s the limit
What’s next for you business?
I’m always looking to grow. For 2019, we’re looking at a bigger space so that we can expand our services. I envision a holistic center, providing our clients with whole body and mind therapy. I want to partner up with women’s centers and help people in need. I’m passionate about what I do and I want to create more access to it for more people.
